It seems that Oak just likes to sit around and talk about things like books, music, theology, and the environment. Needless to say, it has been a fun day.

I remember roughly 30 years ago when we brought you (Alan)home in Green River, Wyoming. Mom would prop you up in your little basket and then she would prepare dinner, I would sit in front of you and talk and talk and talk. I would usually be dressing for the 'Graveyard shift' and your eyes would follow my badge, my whistle chain, anything shiney.
I would promise you that I would come home safe and sound. You would just stare at me ... mom swore you understood every word I said ... and listen. Your post today about talking with Oak brought a rush of memories back when you were his size.
Mom sends her love. She will be there soon. Take care of "AC" for us. [Ask Jim ... he knows]

Hey Liz and Al,

I would usually be dressing for the 'Graveyard shift' and your eyes would follow my badge, my whistle chain, anything shiney.
